Intrepid spunk

Whistling in the wind is too much like the

Tragicomic gestures, suggesting wrenching tragedy,

Intrepid spunk,

Holding the wisdom of the ages—Is it wise? Is it sage?

Clichés suggesting a time tested, time tried knowledge,

Like holding the philosophers’ stone with keys to the kingdom

Knowledge, knowing, wisdom,

sagacity,

Where are they when you are fearful

Where are they when you hurt

When you wonder what it is

What has betrayed you,

Upset all equanimity, disturbed your peace

And ripped the center of all your knowing
