Birds of a feather

Amorous pigeons cooing like their cousin doves

An urban sign of spring; crocuses too, and

Tulips, too soon; flattened by this unseasonal

Year, one day hot, then cold, and wet; too much

Rain, not enough warm, the tulips end their reign

Of color beforetimes, but the pigeons, undaunted

Go on with their clamorous courtship
