Color of sunshine, color of corn

It’s bright. It pops. It’s pretty. Yellow roses are the ones my husband and I call “ours” in commemoration of the first dozen he ever sent me. Yellow can be subtle. It can be bold.
Corn silk, stalks, and kernels are a bright shade of yellow, but is a versatile color.Yellow, the color of butter, soft and sweet, also has the strength of sunshine, as it streams into the room.

Our roses are a color that is something gentle, in between those extremes of hue. As they wilt, they don’t so much fade as get stronger. Their color appearing orange as the ends brown, and the centers wrinkle.
