Tennessee Williams made “desire” a metaphor from New Orleans’ public transportation, suggesting that it can show its face anywhere. .Eugene O’Neil put his “Desire Under the Elms.” It had an operatic arc.

Desire manifests in many guises. It is in our hearts. It is in our minds

Some emotions mimic desire, but do not achieve its intensity. Longing is not desire. Lust is not desire.Desire must burn. Ask Elvis Presley.
