We humans are a fragile race. Bodily dis-ease can fell us, or cause agonies. Mental pain can be as devastating as physical illness. We are also a resilient race, however. We have ways to get better, overcome, and heal.
Sometimes the process of healing can be slow and almost as painful as the malady. It may take days or years to recover from an affliction of mind or spirit. It can take a weakened body a long time to regain its strength.
“Time heals all wounds,” we say to each other, ever hopeful, optimistic and inspiring. We humans are contenders.
