Having a little something between meals may or may not be good for you. The current thinking is that a snack 4 or 5 times a day is better than sitting down to one big meal every 4 or 5 hours.
Sounds like snacking might be a more time-consuming way to consume food with each of us taking small breaks several times a day. Restaurant meals would be foreshortened and faster food establishments would definitely benefit from a snack oriented eating regime.
For those of us who like to “eat a little something” in the afternoon, the snack is a god send. Having a few of them throughout our day, rather than that one or two big meals means we won’t be as likely to overload at any one sitting.
