Today’s crop

Thoughts for the day can either be a dime a dozen and can come a cropper or a rarefied endeavor. We hope these make a contribution of value:

May 4th, aka Derby Day, was a big, even historic day in sports. It took the Mets 13 innings to lose by one (unfortunately, not a really unheard of result for the New York team). There was an unprecedented conclusion at Churchill Downs where the favorite and front-runner was disqualified, giving the 65-1 starter a win.

Itching for a fight?

He’s read the Cliff Notes on how to stay in office. A warttune president can’t lose at re-election. @therealdonaldtrump will start #therealwarwithIran to stick around at 1600 Penn Ave for another 4 years.

The Phantom of the Opera, which by provenance is a British musical, makes Broadway history by going strong for over 30 years and over 13,000 performances.

An inalienable love

Uskudar, a Turkish restaurant in our neighborhood, has a sign in the window that it was closed by Marshalls. This was the place where I realized I was in love. Burt and I went out to dinner with friends, and I found myself head over heels in love.
